how to change facebook messenger notification sound at android phone

to change notification sound you need to change it from the application, all the phone message setting will do no good (they just apply to default message app).

• To change sound you need to open FB messenger app
• select your profile (you photo or logo at left corner)
• scroll down to notifications and sounds
• select note sound
• Now select the sound you want.

I was surprised that even FB instructions were just for PC or old apps.
